Javelinas Making an Impact: Calan Ahrens ’14

When disaster struck Kerr County, Texas, Javelina alumnus Calan Ahrens ’14 stepped up in a big way. After devastating floods swept through the region, Calan helped raise over $100,000 to support flood relief victims, proving once again that the Javelina spirit extends far beyond our campus.

Calan earned his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Recreational Entrepreneurship from Texas A&M University–Kingsville in 2014. Just a few years later, he founded Ahrens Ranch and Wildlife (2017), a venture that has since grown into an impressive operation managing more than 1.4 million acres. His work spans hunting, cattle ranching, ranch consulting, and exotic wildlife management, showcasing the expertise and entrepreneurial drive he honed as a Javelina.

Today, Calan’s leadership and compassion reflect the very best of our alumni community. He not only builds a legacy through his business but also uplifts communities when they need it most.

On this Javelina Day of Giving, we celebrate alumni like Calan, whose dedication, innovation, and generosity inspire us all to make an impact.
