Alumni Spotlight: Christina Trejo ’09 💙💛

Christina Trejo ’09 turned her passion for food and creativity into a career that blends artistry with entrepreneurship. A Business Management graduate from Texas A&M University–Kingsville, Christina went on to expand her culinary skills, earning degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking while continuing to work in the service industry.

Today, Christina is a Pastry Chef, Business Owner, and Sushi Roller, and the founder of Sugar Botany LLC. A business she has been building since 2020. From wedding cakes that become part of life’s biggest moments to desserts that carry family traditions, Christina believes food is about connection, emotion, and creating memories.

Inspired by time spent cooking alongside her father as a child, Christina transformed an early love for the kitchen into a growing brand that now serves the Coastal Bend. With the foundation she gained at TAMUK, including lessons in business law, leadership, and time management, she successfully established and continues to grow her own LLC.

A proud Delta Sigma Pi alumna, Christina values the lifelong friendships and support TAMUK provided. Her work has been featured at community events like the KEDT Food & Wine Festival, and her passion continues to open new doors.

Christina’s journey is a reminder that Javelinas don’t just follow paths, they create them.
